Befriending (Branch Out project)

'Branch Out' is a befriending scheme for adults in the St Albans area who may feel lonely and isolated as a result of long-term mental health issues.

Befrienders are trained volunteers that offer regular and confidential support on a one to one basis. This helps ease social isolation and rebuild people's self-confidence and self-esteem.

We try to match people to befrienders that have similar interests and hobbies. Both the befriender and befriendee are given a trial period to decide whether they get on or not.

To access this service you must be aged 18-65 and be referred by a medical practitioner or social worker.

To take part, or volunteer for the befriending scheme, please email the Befriending Co-ordinator at tracy@mindinmidherts.org.uk or call 01727 865070.
