Running Together for Better Mental Health
Hertford Runners in support of Mind in Mid Herts and Hertfordshire Mind Network
Movement. Connection. Community.
We’re delighted to be supported by Hertford Runners, a local running community bringing energy, music and good vibes to the streets of Hertford every week, all while raising awareness for better mental health.
Through this growing partnership, Hertford Runners are helping to shine a light on the importance of movement and community for our wellbeing, and champion the work of both Mind in Mid Herts and Hertfordshire Mind Network, two local mental health charities supporting people across Hertfordshire.
About Hertford Runners
Not your average running club.
Hertford Runners are here to bring the streets of Hertford to life, with movement, music and a strong sense of community.
Every Tuesday night at 7pm, the group runs roughly 8K with four fun stops along the way for strength-building team moves or simply to catch your breath.
Whether you’re chasing a new personal best or just looking for connection, everyone’s welcome. The group only asks that you’re comfortable running around 5K without walking — simply to make sure no one misses out on the experience.
There are multiple captains running at different paces, so there’s no need to be fast. You’ll always find your rhythm — and your people.
Start and finish: The Hertford Bell pub
Bag drop and lock-up: Provided
Cost: Free — run by volunteers who give their time and energy to support the community
If you’ve been inspired by a marathon, want to meet new people, get fit for a trip, or just try something different, this is your sign to come and join in.
Come run with the Hertford Runners and find your people.
Bring the energy. Bring the vibes.

Hertfordshire Mind Network
Hertfordshire Mind Network is a local mental health charity supporting adults, children and young people across Hertfordshire.
Herts Mind Network provides services from their eight Wellbeing Centres.
Support is available to adults (18+) and children and young people aged 5–18, providing safe, welcoming spaces to talk and find help.
Services include:
- Crisis support (Nightlight): A county-wide, out-of-hours service offering a safe space for anyone in emotional distress.
- One-to-one and group wellbeing support: Peer support, counselling, community groups, housing and carer services.
- Children and young people’s services: Delivered daily (outside bank holidays), offering early support and resilience-building.
- Training and workplace wellbeing programmes: Supporting voluntary, statutory and corporate organisations.
- Health promotion (The Sadie Centre): Providing a range of services to help individuals improve their health and wellbeing.
HMN is an independent local Mind affiliated with National Mind. The organisation raises its own funds to keep essential services running locally — and every donation stays in Hertfordshire.
In the past year, HMN supported more than 15,900 people, including 7,000 adults and 8,900 children and young people.

A Partnership Built on Community
This partnership marks the start of an ongoing collaboration between Hertford Runners and the two Local Minds.
Together, the organisations will continue to explore ways to connect people through movement, share positive messages about mental health, and raise awareness of the support available locally.
