Spring into health this year by taking part in our virtual challenge around Hertfordshire to support your local mental health charity!
What is Spring into Health?
Spring into Health is a virtual challenge, taking on the perimeter of Hertfordshire at your own leisure using the Myles virtual app. You can take on this challenge on your own or you can form a team and split the distance.
You can run, jog, walk or even skip, the choice is yours! You just need to complete the challenge before 16th April!
Note: If you are in a team each individuals distance will contribute towards the total distance.
Why should I take part?
Coronavirus has impacted our lives and over 60% of people’s mental health. We need you to take part in this challenge to help us support the growing number of people dealing with mental health difficulties in Hertfordshire. In addition this challenge will support your mental wellbeing and physical health.
When does it start?
You can take on this challenge at anytime but you need to complete it by 16th April.
How many can you have in a team?
There isn’t a limit on teams, and as the challenge is virtual you can complete it with your team without having to physically meet up, so you can stick to the government guidelines.
Can all ages join?
Absolutely! Children and grandparents are all very welcome, this challenge can be done your way to help you spring into health!
What is the Myles virtual app?
Myles allows you to take on epic virtual fitness challenges. Track your virtual location on the map and monitor your progress as you get closer to your end goal- it’s so fun!
How is the progress and distance recorded?
You can manually track and input your progress on this website or if you have a device which will supports Strava, you can sync this with the app which will then automatically update your progress for you! If you don’t have Strava you can manually add in your progress from other tracking devices such as Fitbit, Apple Watch, Runkeeper and Under Armour to name a few.
What is included with my sign up?
The £16 sign- up fee will enable you to virtually track where you are on the map around Hertfordshire to keep you motivated.
Each person will receive a fundraising pack which includes the following items:
- Access to the Myles virtual app
- Regular top tips on how to get and stay healthy
- Hertfordshire Signposting Guide
Once you have completed the challenge you will also receive a personalised certificate! We will also be on hand to help with any queries you have along the way.
How much money do I need to raise?
Taking part helps to spread awareness and reduce the stigma of mental health, therefore there is no minimum fundraising target, all donations made will be greatly received. You can set up a fundraising page via Justgiving-
What will my money be used for?
Mind in Mid Herts is a small mental health charity in Hertfordshire. All money raised will go back into supporting the people of Hertfordshire.
Do I have to just do one exercise?
People are more than welcome to do the challenge their way, whether that is running, walking, swimming or a combination of sports all is welcome.
