What is the London to Amsterdam Virtual Cycle?
Solo riders or teams have a month to complete a total of 553km at your own leisure.
Note: If you are in a team each individuals distance will contribute towards the total distance.
Why should I take part?
To mark suicide prevention day and mental health awareness day we want you to take part in a challenge to help us support the growing number of people dealing with mental health difficulties in Hertfordshire. In addition this challenge will support your mental wellbeing and physical health.
When does it start?
The event will run from 10th September- 10th October 2020
How many can I have in a team?
You can have a maximum of up to 4 members to a team.
How is progress and distance recorded?
You can manually track and input your progress on this website or if you have a device which will supports the following apps; Strava, Fitbit, Apple Watch, Runkeeper and Under Armour, you can sync this with the website which will then automatically update your progress for you!
What is included with my sign-up?
The £15 sign up fee will enable you to virtually track where you are on the map to Amsterdam along with leader boards so you can check other peoples progress!
Each person will receive a fundraising pack which includes the following items:
- Mind in Mid Herts T- shirt
- Mind in Mid Herts Wristband
- Mental Health Literature
- Once you have completed the challenge you will also receive a certificate! We will also be on hand to help with any queries you have along the way.
What happens once I sign up?
Once you have paid for your sign up you will receive an email from Zento events who will give you a breakdown on what to do next.
You will be sent a link that you and your team will need to each click on to access the challenge page. This is also when you will be asked for your t-shirt size- please also make sure you write your delivery address.
Mind in Mid Herts will then get in contact with you to let you know when to expect your t-shirt and other goodies!
Once you have gained access to the challenge page you will then be able to sync popular apps so it automatically tracks your progress. There is also an option to manually enter your exercise.
How much money do I need to raise?
Taking part helps to spread awareness and reduce the stigma of mental health, therefore there is no minimum fundraising target, all donations made will be greatly received. You can set up a fundraising page via Justgiving.
What will my money be used for?
Mind in Mid Herts is a small mental health charity in Hertfordshire. All money raised will go back into supporting the people of Hertfordshire.
Do I have to cycle or can I do another activity?
People are more than welcome to do the challenge their way, whether that is running, walking, swimming or a combination of sports all is welcome.
