Kindness Rocks’ trail across Hatfield & Hertford for Loneliness Awareness Week

Loneliness Awareness Week 2025

Kindness Rocks Around Hatfield & Hertford

In the spirit of Loneliness Awareness Week, our social‑support group has decorated each rock with an encouraging message to leave around Hatfield and Hertford—and perhaps right where you are.

These messages are to remind you that someone cares. Always.

Every time you see a rock from Mind in Mid Herts, remember that you are seen, valued, and you are not alone. Loneliness can be heavy, but even a small act of kindness can lighten the load.

We can all feel lonely – it’s a part of being human, but it’s not a fact about us; it’s simply a feeling that can come and go. Reaching out can be difficult, and that’s okay because this is us reaching out to you. We hope you keep spotting these rocks and feel a sense of connection with each one.

If you know a place where a little kindness could go a long way, feel free to take the rock and pass it on, so someone like you can come across it and feel a little less lonely.

Get involved

  • Spot a stone? Take a quick photo and share it on Facebook, Instagram or X. Tag @MindInMidHerts and use #MiMHRocks so we can follow its journey.

  • Move it forward. Help the message travel by placing the rock somewhere new—on a park bench, at a bus stop, outside a library.

  • Keep your eyes peeled. Each time you notice a kindness rock, pause and enjoy the reminder that someone cares.

  • Support Mind in Mid Herts. Make a donation so we can continue supporting the local community with their mental health needs. Donate here
