We differ from other providers, as all our trainers are mental health practitioners, with a range of experience in education and the mental health sector.

Sharn Tomlinson

CEO, Mind in Mid Herts

Sharn Tomlinson is a UKCP registered Systemic Family Therapist, trainer and manager. She works at Mind in Mid Herts as CEO; Sharn has experience working in the NHS both with children and adults, as part of the mental health team, as a Family Therapist. Sharn has a post graduate diploma in Systemic Management as well as an MA in teaching, training and supervision and has taught Systemic Psychotherapy at Post graduate level on a master’s programme at the University of Bedfordshire and Relate.

Nicky Kuklys

Head of Training & Development

As a mental health professional, trainer and consultant, Nicky is passionate about supporting organisations build mentally healthy workplaces. She has worked with a variety of local and national businesses’ offering bespoke training and support services so that they can build resilient teams; balancing the wellbeing of their workforce with achieving business success. Nicky has 16 years’ experience working in the mental health field within both the NHS and charity sector. She has experience in group facilitation and facilitating change in a one to one and group setting.

She is in the process of completing her doctoral thesis in Counselling Psychology and has completed her practitioner training to deliver mindfulness interventions.

She brings her professional experience and lived experience of her own mental health difficulties to discuss mental health and wellbeing in an empathic and practical way.

Ollie Rowe

Training Officer

Ollie has a passion for all things Psychology and has had personal experience with mental health difficulties. Ollie recently gained an MSc in Clinical Psychology, where his passion grew by understanding mental health disorders and the different treatments that are available; this lead to his research on exploring the mechanisms and specific treatments of Alcohol and Gambling addictions. Ollie now works as a Trainer where he coordinates and delivers a number of different sessions for our Living Well programme and corporate mental health training. His wide range of knowledge surrounding mental health is a valuable asset that he brings to each and every training session.

Patrick Courtney

Training Officer

Patrick has recently joined the Mind in Mid Herts training team to run the Building Stronger Communities project. For the past few years, he has worked in learning and development for a large holiday company, and in 2020 started volunteering for Mind in Mid Herts as a psychoeducation facilitator on the Living Well courses. He has a wealth of experience in creating and delivering various training solutions. And also a passion for promoting positive mental health and wellbeing, particularly in the workplace. He has personal experience of supporting a loved one with their mental health, and is keen to use this knowledge to help others in similar circumstances.

Emma Robinson

Training Administrator

Emma is the administrator for the training team. She enjoys supporting people with their mental health needs and provides a vital role in helping others access the right help and support for them. She has a passion for charity and is exploring ways in which to further her development so she can continue to help people achieve their goals to improve their health and wellbeing. Emma is often the first point of contact and no query is too much trouble.

Trish

Associate Trainer

Trish has been working with Mind in Mid Herts for over 10 years – now within the training department, and previously as an outreach worker. In her outreach work she was able to provide one to one and group support for individuals in the community. She has been a long-serving vital member of the Stepping Stones team, supporting people back into the community after an in-patient stay. Trish currently works as a counsellor, both in a private practice and through an agency. She is also the mindfulness tutor, providing courses to adults, on behalf of a local College. Prior to working for Mind in Mid Herts, she worked as a lawyer in London for over 13 years. With Trish’s professional and educational experience, she has a wealth of knowledge that she brings into her training sessions.

Olivia

Associate Trainer

Olivia is our newest member of the MiMH Training Team. She has worked at a homelessness and mental health day centre for many years, where she first started as a volunteer, working her way towards the role of lead caseworker. Olivia has specific experience running women’s wellbeing groups, conducting outreach work and providing 1-1 casework to support clients experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges with benefits, housing and healthcare. In her spare time, she volunteers at a charity for those who feel life is no longer worth living to provide a supportive and safe space. Olivia is also in the process of undertaking a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and has a keen interest in trauma. Olivia has lived experience of supporting her own mental health and brings her experience and insight to provide a warm and safe space to learn and develop.
